My PC is really bad and really old. What good games can I play on it?
I want to play some games on my PC, but my computer is really old. I want to get a new, better computer, but I can’t at the moment.
I don’t know much about computers, so I don’t really know any details about mine.
Anyway, the only games I’ve been able to play so far are The Sims (the first one), Worms World Party, and some freeware games I’ve found on the net (with really retro graphics.)
Most other games I try to play on it come up with some error, usually saying something about directx or something. I already downloaded this thing and the problem persists, so I assume that it isn’t the real problem here.
So, basically, I’m looking for games that are about on par with The Sims and WWP in terms of… umm… low maintenance-ness, I suppose.
I’ve been looking into the Fallout games (1 & 2), but I’m not sure whether they’d be possible for my computer to run or not.
So, yeah. I’m sorry I couldn’t explain it better, but that’s my predicament.

need more info like processor, ram, graphic etc.
there are different types of directx.
the newest is 11 but the games today mainly use 9 or 10.
older games will need a lower one.
the error you are getting is.
if your graphics card only supports 8 but the game needs 9, the game will not run, even if you update directx. its your video card limiting you

always do this before buying a game
if it barely passes the test then the game still might run slowly.

ps. the sims is directx 7, fallout 1 is direct x 9 so no fallout will not run
