The real problem of the neo geo is the price. In Europe its over 350 euros or 500 us dollars. Its a pity since its a great system and i really want one badly =).

Actually the SNK NeoGeo was supported for a ful 14 years from Magician Lord to Samurai Shodown 5 Special. Only the Atari 2600 had a longer lifespan.

This should of been titled as SNK NEO-GEO Classics. If it was SNK Arcade Classics, then it would include their arcade games before the NEO-GEO era was born, like Micon Block, Ozma Wars, Vanguard 1 and 2, Athena, the Ikari Warriors series, Touch Down Fever, Psycho Soldier, Fighting Soccer, P.O.W.: Prisoner of War and Street Smart, along with some of ADK’s like Crush Roller, Exciting Soccer, Battle Field, Sky Soldiers, Sky Adventure and Gang Wars.

bought this game the other day, nothing but amazing games on this! i hope they release vol 2 soon. i have a neo geo emulator on my psp with every rom so i know there is alot of great stuff to come!
also the neo geo actually lasted for over ten years till snk pulled the plug. i think its the longest lasting system next to the 2600 as far as official support.

I split the cost of a Neo Geo Gold system back in 1992 for a total of $300, then I bought BSII for $200 New.
Had no money left for other games though.
The joysticks are actually very, very light (almost hollow) & flimsy.
They work fine just have no weight to them.
I no longer have that system so I bought the Wii game.
Amazing value with this compliation.

I actually have an MVS board that works fairly well. If you want to get a Neo Geo system, and since most (if not all) of the AES games were arcade games, it is far cheaper to do that.

i have this game for my ps2 and on the back it says world heros is on the disc, but it isnt!

Ah, good old Neo Geo…I wasted SOOO many quarters in one at a local deli-arcade. I remember a lot of these games.
Neo Geo does indeed still have a huge collector’s market. When it was new, the major selling point was basically having the arcade at home. SNES and Genesis just couldn’t compete as far as arcade ports. (Although I love those systems just as much, for other reasons.)

Didnt last long? The Neo Geo had nearly 15 years of support up until 2005 with the release of the last official game, Samurai Shodown V Special

yo have to unlock it somehow i think. i have it on the WII version of the game but i don’t remember if i unlocked it or if it was there at the start
January 4th, 2010 at 3:53 am
unlock!!!??? if thats true then thats not good enough, it says it on the back of the box that the game is on there, im guessing the game isnt that great anyway so it really isnt worth playing to unlock it

in the book it says you have to unlock 10 medals to unlock the game. Or i think it says that the copy i got only came with a french instruction booklet. The game is actually pretty fun. Im not a big fighter fan but that’s one of my favorite fighters on the disc.
January 4th, 2010 at 4:19 am
lol i never do bother looking in the instructions but thanx for telling me how to unlock the game, but will i sit down and try to get it? unlikely lol!
January 4th, 2010 at 4:25 am
i acctually never tried to get the metals. many are easy to get. alot are just completeing a certain game and others are just simple little acheviments that i did without relizing until it said it at the bottom of my screen.

What’s your PS2 model?
I own this game and for some reason it’s really laggy. It’s the -only- game that acts like this.
